"We had lived in our house for 22 years and decided to put in a pool after our children had grown up and moved out of the house. Our yard was a private space with a hill and lots of lawn. We wanted the design to incorporate the hill and to minimize lawn maintenance. We went through a lot of books and magazines, picking out things we wanted in our pool, and Concord Pools and Spas was great about incorporating our ideas.
There is an outdoor kitchen, a raised patio for lounging and a full patio with a dining table. The landscape lighting is critical. Both my husband and I work during the day, so most of our entertaining is at night, and the lighting is just beautiful.
I requested the custom concrete steps, which are padded beneath the vinyl liner. I am in the newspaper business, so I wanted a place in the pool to sit and read without getting totally wet. The steps are perfect for that.
The staff was so respectful of our property - where they parked their cars and drove their trucks. And when we ran into some problems getting just the right flow of water through the three water features, Concord never stopped working on it until we were happy. Never in our wildest dreams did we think it would turn out this good. A lot of people will sell you a bill of goods, but Concord Pools and Spas really delivered."

"This pool is another example of how our in-ground, vinyl-lined pools can be customized for a fabulous, one-of-a-kind look. The clients desired a design that would afford them ample space beyond the pool for entertaining and socializing. We were restricted, however, by a nearly 12-ft. differential in grade. Nevertheless, providing the client with maximum swimming area while offering substantial room for entertaining was our top priority.
We wanted to create a unique design that would complement the architectural character of their home. It was also critical that the newly created space integrate well with the existing outdoor living area. In addition, the design had to accommodate the owners' busy lifestyle, which required a low-maintenance retreat.
Like most of our pools, this one was constructed using the Graphex I-Brace Pool System manufactured by Pacific Pools. The decking is comprised of tumbled landscape paves, and the elevated patio area features a raised granite beam with a paved stone surface. The raised patio boasts three waterfalls that cascade from the granite face.
Customized 18-ft.-wide concrete steps run the full width of the pool, doubling as an underwater bench that creates a substantial relaxation area within the pool. The most rewarding aspect of the project, however, was designing the raised patio area, which blends well into the existing landscape and grade and provides a unique entertaining area."
