Concord Pools Awarded "First Place in International Design"
for Vinyl Liner Pools by A.P.S.P

In an unprecedented event, Concord Pools and Spas, has been recognized as the 1st Place Gold Medal winner of the “International Design Award” for Vinyl Liner Pools by the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP), in recognition for their lifetime achievement, innovations and contributions back to the swimming pool industry.
Mike Giovanone, President of Latham based Concord Pools and Spas, who was additionally being recognized among Pool and Spa News' "Top 50 Builders" in the USA and a "Master of Design" award recipient, accepted these awards on behalf of Concord Pools and Spas, and Latham based Latham Plastics for their entry of a custom pool constructed locally this past year.

Concord Pools Goes Green
With New York Light Energy

Concord Pools & Spas Ltd., which has long since been established as the premium pool builder in the region, has made a conscious effort to reduce its carbon footprint by participating in the New York Light Energy solar solutions program. This free program helps design, install, and implement an energy reduction program by installing photovoltaic solar panels on the rooftops of buildings. With multiple locations throughout the region, including storage facilities, distribution centers and retail pool centers, Concord Pools’ buildings were great candidates for this program.
Concord Pools & Spas is doing their part in reducing their environmental impact through this use of solar energy which is replenishable and extremely environmentally friendly. Unlike other sources of energy, it depends only on sunlight and produces little to no byproducts, leaving no carbon footprint. Together with New York Light Energy, Concord installed a 44 kW Photovoltaic system at their Latham location and a 33 kW Photovoltaic system at their Clifton Park location. These solar panels will help cut costs, provide dependable energy, and reduce carbon emissions by over 1.5 million pounds over the next 20 years. This is equivalent to the positive environmental effects of planting 122 acres of trees. “We are proud to be a part of this renewable energy program and to be helping the environment,” said Mike Giovanone, President of Concord Pools and Spas.
